- Tom the Dog recounts his experience auditioning for 1 vs. 100. He’s moved pretty far ahead — I hope I get the chance to cheer him on from home.
- Glarkware is now selling Petrelli for Congress t-shirts. Remind me that few people will understand that pop culture reference before I take out my credit card.
- Ugh. So it turns out the new season of America’s Next Top Model being filmed with the striking writers replaced. I think I’m done with this show.
- Battlestar Galactica’s ratings are down 20% from last season, though that’s likely due to the tougher competition its facing against the new fall TV offerings. The SciFi Channel is saying they’re happy that ratings are up versus a year ago (when reruns aired) and that may be justified — if the show is doing well enough to survive in the tougher time period, that frees up the less-competitive months to launch the next Eureka.
- Jericho will be following a split season schedule, with a “fall finale” on November 29 and returning on February 21. Why not follow The Sci-Fi Channel and talk like they’re two separate seasons, which would give CBS two season finales and two premieres to turn into an event.
- Interesting. Increasingly-competitive bidding is making American programming less appealing to UK networks. Sometimes I wonder about shows that get picked up so quickly, aside from the highly-buzzed debuts, wouldn’t it make sense to wait to see which shows get quickly cancelled? And why is no one in the UK airing Gilmore Girls?
